For many of us, the word Cadillac means the epitome of luxury cars. If you could buy a Cadillac, you had truly arrived. Often the word Cadillac has been used to define the highest Caliber of other goods. Founded in 1902 and named after the founders ancestor who happened to be the founder of Detroit. Cadillac was purchased by General Motors in 1909, and shortly thereafter set a manufacturing standard by using interchangeable parts. It was the first car to have an electric starter and one of the first to reach speeds of 65 mph. A Cadillac carried President Obama in his inaugural parade.
