In the late eighties, Japanese automakers agreed to certain voluntary restrictions on the number of automobiles they would export to the United States. Since there was then a finite number of units that could be imported the next logical step was to import more expensive vehicles. Nissan’s entry in the new Japanese luxury class was the Infiniti in 1989. Just to name a few of its accolades the Infiniti G Series Sedan was named one of Car and Driver’s Ten Best in 2009; this was the fourth time the Infiniti G Series earned this award. Infiniti also produces its highly acclaimed M Series, which competes well against American and European Luxury Sedans.
