Kia Motors traces its heritage to 1944 when it began making bicycle frames and tubing by hand. It has come a long way. In 1951 the name was changed, in 1957 Kia started making Scooters, then trucks in 1962. Thirty years later, they came to America. Kia is now Korea’s second largest car producer. Starting in 2005 Kia made something of a Sea Change hiring Peter Schreyer, a renowned automotive designer, away from the German Companies he had worked for before. Schreyer took over as head of design changing the Kia and its image. Since 1992 Kia has went from a Korean company to an international company.
